Dearne Valley College has created a new training kitchen for students incorporating stainless steel products from Leeds’ manufacturer Pland.

The refurbishment, completed in March by Globe Architects and contractors O&P Construction has products supplied by Dixon Timber Products, customers of Pland Stainless.

The brief was to create a high tech training kitchen for students that’s easy to maintain and has longevity in use. Stainless steel was selected as an ideal hardwearing material and because it simulates the commercial kitchens that the students will work in once qualified.

Colour was added by the kitchen cabinets supplied by Dixon Timber products but the bespoke made to measure stainless steel worktops, sinks and butcher blocks were all supplied by Pland Stainless and made locally in their Leeds facility to brief.
