New Welding Robot cuts lead times…

Another robot has been installed and is now up and running at the Pland Stainless factory in Leeds as part of continued investment to improve production efficiency.

This latest investment is in a robot welder and is currently working with standard jig fixtures to batch-run the company’s Malvern Drinking Fountains.

The welding robot is slashing lead times on the product and boosting efficiency. But it’s not just about speed, it is delivering precision and consistency too. High quality results are being achieved and unparalleled repeatability with every product.

The investment has helped their skilled welders to focus on more bespoke products, leaving the robot to weld products in volume with a consistency in both speed and finish.

Their investment in robots has certainly not replaced any skilled craftsmen, in fact Pland is employing more welders this year as business is booming at present, an increase on last year’s sales, so they are consistently looking for new recruits both skilled and apprentices to train from all age groups.
